I live in a military town, or atleast on the outskirts of one. I see yellow ribbons tied to trees in remembrance, my children wear pink socks and riboons for sports during Cancer awareness months, and though I don't personally have a direct connection to military, cancer survivors, bullies, or anything else there are symbolic ribbons for, I have always had an interest in making chemo caps or awareness related material to donate. My cousin in VA is always running marathons or working Zumbathons for raising awareness and money for research and my boyfriends mother is the nursing manager of the Oncology floor at a hospital near here.

I haven't began those projects, but i saw this scarf and wanted to see what the real thing would look like. This is one of those special scarves that can be worn on either side because the pattern allows for a resemblance to a ribbon on both sides of the scarf. Yeah, personally, I can see the scarf as double sided, but I don't really see a ribbon shape.

I ended up giving this particular scarf to a family member for Christmas last year, the first year of my annual Holiday Homemade gift giving. I would love to knit more of these scarves, even in different colors to offer a variety for the interests of all. I could even see knitting several of these and joining them together to create a blanket. The pattern is an uncommon one and I do love the unique and must fill the world with it! (Insert evil mastermind laugh).
