Adventure Time Birthday with Finn and Jake (and Chandler)!

My baby boy was not even 7 years old and totally obsessed with the Adventure Time show. Finn the human, Jake the dog, the Ice King, and all the Princesses of Bubblegum, Fire, Lumpy Space Clouds, Hotdogs, Slime and, of course, the B-Mo. I had so much fun with this birthday theme! 'Specially since I got to make Rainicorm cupcakes! Only a boy who appreciates Adventure Time could handle this foray of flowers.

These cupcakes were before my time warp in which everything I bake must be from scratch, so it was boxed cake and icing, but each cake was a layer of 5 rainbow colors, with 4 different colors/ flavors of icing.

All of the food was amazing and off the wall, you couldn't help but try it out even if you weren't sure. Like the Fairy Bread, simple buttered bread with sprinkles all over, doesn't sound appetizing, but was actually great! The buffet also included Grilled Cheese Pups (Hot dog Princess), Lumpy Space Cloud Krispy Balls (obvi..) Rasberry cookies (Bubblegum Princess), Mini Donuts (the evil garden witch), Slime Princess Jello, and Finn's swords of fruit and cheese.

A happier pool party I couldn't have wished for. Surrounded by family and out of this world themed food and decor. Chandler got a real Finn hat (which it took a while for me to realize was even a hat in the cartoon), a Finn and Jake bookbag, t-shirt and figurines. Oh, the party wasn't too hard, but the presents were tricky, because oddly most 'gifts' pertaining to Adventure Time are geared towards adults. Chandler's poor dad went to the mall (a place we steer far away from) and acutally bought an adult size Adventure Time robe and the only, outrageously priced bookbag they had. I'm telling you, we were determined to find something Adventure Time, but all turned out well. Even the simple candy filled goody bags, with the catchy "It's Thank You time!", get it? "It's Adventure Time!"
